Diaper Bag Essentials | Skip Hop Greenwich Backpack
One of my most used and loved baby items is my diaper bag. I never leave the house without it. For being such little things babies sure do require a lot of stuff. When my son was a baby, I would carry around practically everything you could buy in Target’s baby section. This time around I have tried to make it a point to only keep things in my diaper bag that I need and use.
Diaper Bag Essentials
This is my list of things I do not leave the house without. I also listed all of the items pictured just in case you wanted to pick them up for yourself.
Baby Blanket: Tula Baby Blanket in the print Triple Scoops.
Nursing Cover: Milk Snob cover in the print French Floral.
Nursing Pads: Bamboobies Ultra-Absorbent Overnight Washable Nursing Pads. I also love the Lansinoh Disposable Nursing Pads.
Change of Clothes: Romper from Carters. When the weather cools off I will swap this out for a long sleeve shirt, leggings and socks.
Diapers and Wipes: I currently use Honest Company. Check out my review of the Honest Company diapers and wipes here.
Hand Sanitizer: Wet One’s Antibacterial Hand Wipes.
Changing Pad: Arm & Hammer Disposable Changing Pads from Munchkin. I prefer using these over the reusable ones. Changing tables are gross and I would rather toss the pad than put that thing back in my bag.
Bib: The Honest Company magnetic bandana bib in the print Rose Blossom
Toys: Sophie, the giraffe & Grattis Plush Cupcake from Ikea
Snacks: Trader Joe’s Dried Fruit Bar
I also keep a few things in my bag just for me.
Gum, chapstick, hair brush, wallet, and keys. I also keep a little shoulder bag tucked in the front pocket in case I want to leave the diaper bag in the car.
Skip Hop Greenwich Simply Chic Backpack
Now let’s talk about the bag itself.
This bag is the Skip Hop Greenwich Simply Chic Backpack in the color Dusty Rose. I like that this bag is cute and feminine as well as functional. I can’t stand when a diaper bag obnoxiously looks like a diaper bag. I do not need little cartoon characters printed on my bag to remind me that it is a diaper bag. This bag is something I would not mind using in the future as a carry on or overnight bag.
It is made out of an artificial “vegan” leather and has pretty gold accents. My daughter loves to play with the little decorative tassel on the front. One of my favorite features of this bag is that all of the pockets zip open and closed, which helps to ensure everything doesn’t fall out. The pockets are also lined so if there is a spill of any kind I can just wipe the bag to clean it. On the sides, it has a zipped pocket and an open pocket that makes it easy to keep bottles or other drinks separate from your other items. I also like the little hooks and straps they include with the bag so you can hang it from a stroller or grocery cart if you are tired of carrying it on your back. It also includes comes with a reusable changing pad which is nice to keep your baby from touching a germy changing table. However, I get a little grossed out at the thought of sticking that thing back in my bag after being on the changing table. I like to use the disposable ones instead and I leave the one that came with the bag at home.
I prefer the backpack style of diaper bags because I feel like it makes it a little easier to juggle your baby and a bag when it’s on your back. I also wear my daughter in our Tula anytime we are out and about, and the backpack seems to work better than an over the shoulder style bag when baby wearing.
Overall the bag is cute and functional. More importantly, it is one that I don’t mind carrying around with me everywhere we go.
This is not a sponsored post. I purchased all items mentioned and all opinions are my own.
